The Online Map & Guide for locals by locals

posted 07/04/09 | authored by Maryellen

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? You are, no doubt, familiar with this philosophical query. It’s meant to make us think about perception. While developing ShopSpringLake.com, I have thought a lot about perception. What is Spring Lake? How is it? Where is it?

In this labor of love you are now reading, my friends Mary, Molly and myself offer an online community that will interpret not only shopping in Spring Lake, but all aspects of life in this beautiful beach town.

This website isn’t just about visiting Spring Lake, it’s an alternative experience. We don’t want another travel guide, we live here ALL of the time. It’s a tool, a resource for those of us who have, for whatever reasons, had a lucky twist of fate in life to land us along one of the most beautiful stretches of beachfront in the world. And we don’t take the privilege for granted, which is why our approach is distinctly environmentally-friendly.

As more and more of us rely on the internet for local news and shopping, ShopSpringLake.com provides engaging content along with retail promotions. Check back often; the site will grow and evolve. We will include a complete listing of businesses within the Spring Lake zip code, an interactive map, calendar, coupons, reviews, editorials and more. It’s as if you asked a good friend where to go and they shared all their favorite places (please don’t tell the tourists).
